Kinfolder

Our story

Our name, and why Kinfolder exists

Two plain English words

Kin is an English word for family — your relatives, the people closest to you. A folder is one tidy place to keep what matters. Put them together and you have the whole idea behind Kinfolder: a single, calm place that holds everything your family would need — and hands it to them only when it counts.

Why we built it

Almost everything now lives behind a login. When someone dies, their family is too often left guessing during the hardest week of their lives — locked out of accounts, unsure where the will is, unable to reach the photos. Not because anyone was careless, but because nothing was ever written down in one place.

Kinfolder turns that frantic search into a calm, guided handover. You fill in your folder once, at your own pace, and choose a trusted person who receives it when the moment comes.

How we think about it

Calm, never alarmist. Private by default — everything is encrypted on your own device and, if you add safekeeping, held in the EU where not even we can read it. And always yours: you can export everything as plain files at any time, with no lock-in.

Kinfolder doesn't replace a will or give legal advice. It's the warm, practical record that sits alongside one — so the people you love aren't left searching.

Give your family the gift of not having to guess.

Sort it once, in an afternoon — calm, private, and entirely yours.
